The list of Trusteees of the Village of Lansingburgh is a work in progress. Books on the history of Rensselaer County didn't list them, so the information has to be reconstructed from old newspapers and other records. Further complicating matters is that they appear to have had staggered terms, so annual articles giving election results may have only half of the full board in any given year. Before 1849, Trustees seem to have been listed in the newspaper without reference to wards even though the three wards had been created prior to that year.
CHARTER ELECTION.βAt the charter election held in this village last week, the following gentlemen were elected Trustees:
John S. Fake, Sidney D. Smith, J. C. Lansing, John D. Dale, and John G. Neal.
The new board of Trustees have organized by re-electing JOHN S. FAKE President of the village, and appointing Charles C. Parmelee, clerk. Samuel Bontecou has been appointed Inspector of streets and alleys, in place of Matthias Askins.
