The Lansingburgh Historical Society has in its collection an unusual quilt with the names of residents stitched within its squares. Records indicate it was made around 1900 by "ladies of the Eastern Star." Presumably that would have been members of the the Order of the Eastern Star's Bethlehem Star Chapter No. 169, founded 1899 with Ada M. Hislop of Lansingburgh as Worthy Matron. Possibly it had been made for auction at a Masonic Fair held at Bolton Hall in 1902, just a year after the Village of Lansingburgh was annexed by the City of Troy.
