BY CAR

From the West: 

From Interstate 90, take Exit 24 onto Interstate I-87.  Then follow directions below. 

From North, South and East:

From Interstate I-87: Take Exit 7 to Troy. Follow signs for Interstate I-787 (first red/blue then black/white) to Ontario Street in Cohoes. Turn RIGHT, following 470 East (signs for Troy). Pass two bridges, the second of which is the large 112th Street bridge over the Hudson River. Ontario Street becomes 112th Street in Lansingburgh. At the light at 2nd Avenue, take a LEFT turn. Take another LEFT turn at 114th Street for one block. The Lansingburgh Historical Society and Park is at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 114th Street. Offstreet parking is available.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: (CHECK FIRST AS THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

ADIRONDACK TRAILWAYS/ GREYHOUND BUS STATION        
Take the #22 (State Street) to downtown Troy. Get off at Fulton and 4th Streets. Then get the #85 to Waterford. Get off at 114th Street and 2nd Ave, and walk one block to the west (toward the river). The Melville House is on the corner of 1st Ave and 114th St.

FROM THE ALBANY RENNS. TRAIN STATION:
Take the #24 Bus to downtown Troy. Get off at River and Front Street, and walk one block east (away from the river) to Fulton and 4th St. Get the #85 bus that goes to Waterford. Get off at 114th St, and walk one block to the west (toward the river). The Melville House is on the corner of 1st Ave and 114th St.
